CHITWAN, April 24: There has been an agreement to start the counting of votes in Chitwan Constituency No. 2 at 1 pm today. Assistant Election Officer Ishwar Acharya informed that there was an agreement to start the vote-counting at 1 pm in the all-party meeting held on Monday morning.
The vote counting center in Chitwan has been secured with mesh wires and CCTV cameras. It has been applied to all the vote-counting booths where the votes will be counted in the three constituencies of the district.
KATHMANDU, May 18: The Election Commission (EC) has directed authorities concerned to finish the vote counting of the recently held local level elections within five days.
Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, a spokesperson, Saligram Sharma Poudel for the poll body, directed authorities in this regard.
According to the poll body, the vote count has been concluded in 460 local units and it is currently underway in the remaining units.
As the tenure of the outgoing local representatives are coming to an end by May 19, so the poll body is under pressure to conclude the vote count and avoid local units from going representatives less.
The Election Commission is preparing to monitor vote counting with CCTV cameras to avoid any dispute during the count during the local elections this year.
