Ruling alliance meeting today to fix date of local level elections

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: The ruling alliance is scheduled to hold a meeting on Wednesday to fix the date of local-level elections. The alliance including the Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party, and Rastriya Janamorcha Party, is scheduled to hold a discussion and fix a date for local level election as the Election Commission has asked the government to fix the dates at the earliest. The poll body has urged the government to fix the date by the first week of Magh ( January 22). The tenure of local governments is scheduled to come to an end on May 19.
