KATHMANDU, June 6: CPN (Maoist Center), a key coalition partner of the Deuba government, is not in a mood to replace its ministers, according to Shakti Basnet, former Home Minister and a leader of the party.
Basnet’s statement comes a day after the CPN (Unified Socialist) decided to recall its ministers from the government. It has been learnt that the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) is also preparing to replace its ministers.
“Budget for the upcoming fiscal year has been recently introduced. It will be effective to work for the implementation of that budget rather than reshuffling the Cabinet,” Basnet said. “Besides, the general election is nearing. So, the party is not in the mood for Cabinet reshuffling.”
Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, Energy Minister Pampa Bhusal, Education Minister Devendra Poudel, Sport Minister Maheshworjung Gahatraj, Land Reform Minister Sahi Shrestha and State Minister for Education Bodmaya Yadav are currently representing the CPN (Maoist Center) in the Cabinet.
