The Supreme Court (SC) has demanded the government provide written clarification for appointing actor Bhuwan KC as the chairperson of the Film Development Board.
The Supreme Court (SC) hearing on a case filed against actor and chairperson of Film Development Board (FDB) Bhuwan KC, which was expected to be held on August 22, has been postponed for August 29.
Actor Bhuwan KC has been appointed chairman of Nepal Film Development Board (FDB).A Cabinet meeting held on Monday appointed actor KC to the post. He was picked from among 10 contestants. Arun Kumar Pradhan, Deepak Shrestha, Naresh Kumar Paudel, Nirmal Raj Dhakal, Manish Pandit, Samjhana Upreti Rauniar, Suchitra Shrestha, Sunil Kumar Pokharel and Sushma Karki were among other candidates vying for the coveted post. But KC beat them all.
The government has appointed famous (and also notorious) actor Bhuwan KC as the chairman of the Film Development Board, the government authority responsible for the development of the country's film industry.
