Disaster: 35 die in Karnali after Dashain, 13 still missing

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: As many as 35 people died and 13 others have gone missing in Karnali Province after Dashain festival due to disasters triggered by incessant rainfall. 13 people have gone missing in a landslide in Tilagufa Municipality-4 of Kalikot district. These people were attending a funeral ceremony of Hemraj Shahi. A total of 20 people have gone missing since October 5 in Karnali Province. Of them, 18 are from Kalikot district.  After the Tika of Dashain festival, as many as 35 people have died due to floods and landslides in Karnali Province. According to the Karnali Province Police Office, a total of 23 people were injured during this period. Likewise, as many as 480 people have been displaced and 2,889 families have been affected.
