NC extends sorrow over death of Siddiqui

The Nepali Congress (NC) has expressed deep sorrow over demise of former lawmaker Mohammadi Siddiqui. Party chief whip Balkrishna Khand in a condolence message today extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and wished for eternal peace of the departed soul. Siddiqui who had her active participation in democratic movements in the country was elected to the first Constituent Assembly in 2008 from the NC. She was an active politician and was associated with several social organisations. As a dedicated social activist, the promotion of social service and human rights issues primarily of the rights of women were her areas of working. She died on April 24. She was committed to strengthening the party and its organisation. The party has termed her death an irreparable loss to the party itself and the social sector.

NC President Deuba expresses grief over Thapa's demise

KATHMANDU, June 22: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed grief over the death of Dhankuta district secretary of party, Krishna Thapa. Thapa had died in a road accident occurred at Biratchwok of Morang on Sunday night while going to Jhapa from Dhankuta. The motorcycle Thapa was riding was hit by a tipper. Even his brother, Bhim Bahadur, riding together was seriously injured in the incident. The late Thapa was 45 year old. Issuing a condolence message, President Deuba paid tribute to the late one and extended condolences to the bereaved family members. He also wished the speedy recovery of the injured one. Deuba reminded that the late Thapa had played an active role in building party organization and Nepal's democratic movement.

NC leader Air dies of COVID-19 in Kanchanpur

KANCHANPUR, May 23: Constituency-2 secretary of Nepali Congress in the district, Sudarshan Air, died of COVID-19. The 52-year old died at Seti Province Hospital, Dhangadhi while receiving treatment last night. Air tested positive for coronavirus on May 11 was in home isolation. He was admitted to the hospital three days back after his health condition deteriorated fast. A permanent resident of Sishaiya from Shuklaphanta Municipality-2 had been staying at Attariya of Godawari Municipality-1 along with his family. The late Air was established as a popular leader among youths. He is lived by wife, a son and a daughter. NC leader at Shuklaphanta, Tej Saha, informed that entire district committee of the party was saddened over the death of popular leader Air.
