Nepal Pediatric Society (Nepas) has requested not to seek alternatives as breast milk is the best and safest food for the nutrition and health security of infants during natural disasters and emergencies.The Society stated that in emergency situations, alternative products to breast milk can be used only in some special and sensitive circumstances where breastfeeding is impossible, and upon the advice of health workers.The Society, issuing official suggestions on 'Management of Children During Disasters', stated that family and community support is necessary to continue breastfeeding even in such situations.According to Nepas, alternative products to breast milk (formula milk or...
