Prohibitory order in Kathmandu valley extended till Aug 10

KATHMANDU, Aug 4: The local administrations Kathmandu Valley issued a prohibitory order restricting all kinds of physical training, seminars, meetings and conferences. As the infection of COVID-19 has started increasing, such programs have been prohibited until August 10. Earlier, programs such as seminars, training, seminars, meetings and training were allowed to be conducted with the presence of not more than 25 people. Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu, Kali Prasad Parajuli, said that such events should be held virtually to stop such congested activities as the number of COVID-19 infected has started increasing. The Kathmandu administration has concluded that the risk has increased due to violation of the health protocol.  The order was issued by Tuesday’s joint meeting of the CDOs of the three districts -Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapu Meanwhile, the administration has also requested all those concerned to contact the respective local levels and district hospitals for antigen and PCR tests provided by the Government of Nepal free of cost to the person who has symptoms of COVID-19 and is in contact with the infected. It has also requested all to fully comply with the health protocol. Action will be taken as per the COVID-19 Crisis Management Ordinance 2078 BS against any violation of the protocol. In the order issued, the existing provision of a ban on all kinds of gatherings including in conference, party palace, cinema hall, dance bar, swimming pool, entertainment venue, museum, sports with spectators in stadiums and other crowded events. The order also states that people are not allowed to gather in open space, hold meetings/processions, hold festivals, banquets, etc. Medicine and health related shops can be opened at any time but other shops and businesses will be allowed to open only till 7:00 pm. Vehicles for local transportation of goods will be allowed only from 9 to 11 in the morning and from 4 to 7 in the afternoon. The administration has stated that health standards should be followed while conducting others business. Online orders for essentials, restaurants and fast food and other orders will be available for take-away or home delivery purposes only until 7 pm. Passenger vehicles can be operated with passengers according to the seat capacity and all the health protocols have to be followed.  As per the previous order, long distance vehicles will be allowed to operate following the health standards. Pre-scheduled examinations can be held with a maximum of 25 people in one room and all the health standards have to be followed.
