KATHMANDU, Feb 14: The Kathmandu Valley, where Nepal’s federal capital is situated, reported continued deterioration of the air quality in the last few days.

The European pollution monitoring agency, World Air Quality Index (IQAir), has predicted that the air quality will remain poor until next Sunday.
According to the forecast, the air quality index (AQI) will range from 111 to 138.
As of 9:32 AM on Monday, the air quality in the Kathmandu Valley stands at 172 AQI. Kathmandu Valley ranks seventh among the most polluted cities in the world.

Recently, the 2021 IQAir World Air Quality Report of Switzerland-based IQAir, an air quality technology company, ranked Kathmandu in the top ten most polluted capital cities in the world.
Likewise, Nepal has been ranked as the 10th most polluted country in the world.
