KATHMANDU, July 17: Newly elected deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Pushpa Bhusal took an oath of office and secrecy on Friday.
Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota administered the oath to Bhusal in presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari amid an event held at the President's Office.
Bhusal, Nepali Congress’s leader, was elected to the post of deputy speaker on Friday.

KATHMANDU, July 14: The ruling alliance has filed a candidacy of Pushpa Bushal of Nepali Congress for the post of deputy speaker of the lower house.
Meanwhile, Bidya Bhattari of CPN-UML has also filed a nomination for the same post.
The election of the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled for Friday.
KATHMANDU, July 13: A schedule for election of the deputy speaker of the lower house of parliament has been unveiled on Wednesday.
According to the schedule, the election is set to be held on July 15.
Georgian parliament speaker Archil Talakvadze announced his resignation on Saturday.
"Given that several months of tense negotiations between the ruling party and the opposition parties ended with an agreement, where I was involved along with the party chairman, I think it would be appropriate to leave the position of Speaker and nominate a person who will lead the work of the parliament from a more neutral position," said Talakvadze at a news briefing.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Kakha Kuchava will be nominated for the post of parliament speaker while Talakvadze will hold the position of vice speaker.
Kuchava, who has been the vice speaker of the tenth convocation of the Georgian parliament, has been a member of the ruling party since 2016.
