Govt did not pay attention to alternatives to fossil fuel: Prem Suwal
KATHMANDU, August 2: Prem Suwal, Member of Parliament from the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, has said that the government has not paid attention to seeking an alternative to fossil fuels.
Oil, gas and coal representatives will have to disclose their industry ties at future climate meetings, the UN says. For years, fossil fuel employees have been able to attend without having to be clear about their relationship with their companies.
Equating the oil and gas industry to Big Tobacco, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Friday that “fossil fuel producers and financiers have humanity by the throat.”
