These 13 transit points are open to enter Nepal from India

KATHMANDU, May 12:  Nepal has placed restrictions on cross-border movement along the Nepal-India border as the second wave of the coronavirus disease started engulfing most parts of the country. As many as 72 districts have enforced prohibitory orders to curb the spread of deadlier strain of virus.  Restrictions imposed on international flights have been extended until May 31. Two flights between Nepal and India , however, will remain operational as per the Air Bubble Arrangement between the two countries. Citizens of only Nepal and India can travel via these flights.  The government has opened 13 of the 35 entry points the  along the Nepal-India border to ease those wishing to come to their home country from India amid this pandemic.Those entry points will remain open even during the prohibitory orders enforced by the respective local administrations, following the decision made by the Council of Ministers at the recommendation of COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).  According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Pulghat in Darchula, Jhulaghat in Baitadi, Gaddachauki in Kanchanpur and Gauriphanta in Kailali will remain open for Nepalis to enter their country. Similarly, Nepalis can also make their entry via Jamunaha in Banke, Krishna Nagar in Kapilvastu, Belahiya of Rupandehi and Birgunj of Parsa districts after completing necessary procedures. The Cabinet also allowed Nepalis’ entry through Gaur (Rautahat), Bhittamode (Dhanusha), Jogbani (Morang), Kakarbhitta (Jhapa) and Pashupatinagar (Ilam).
