Two persons die, over dozen displaced in Baglung in monsoon-induced disasters in two months

BAGLUNG, July 11: Two persons died and one has gone missing in monsoon-induced disasters in Baglung district in a span of two months, according to the police.  Similarly, over a dozen families have been displaced and 66 houses facing high risk of being swept away by the landslides. Properties worth over Rs 15 million was damaged in the disasters, said the police, adding that the displaced families have taken shelter in the houses of their relatives.  Twenty-five houses and three animal sheds were damaged in landslides at various places of Kathekhola, Badigad and Tarakhola Rural Municipalities and Galkot Municipality, said the district police office. The landslide victims were taken to safety, said information officer at the district police office, Ekbal Hawari.  Eleven houses at Jaimini Municipality and Kathekhola Rural Municipality are at high risk of a landslide.  Similarly, thirty-two houses of Bareng Rural Municipality are at landslide risk.
