Tokyo 2020: China leading medal tally, USA trailing behind

  KATHMANDU, Aug 5: As of Thursday Friday, China is leading the medal tally in the ongoing Olympic Games being held in Tokyo, Japan.  China has so far secured 74 medals including 34 gold medals compared to 32 on Thursday.  The USA, which is trailing behind the Chinese side, has so far won most medals ---91. However, it is ranked second with 29 golds, 35 silver and 27 bronze medals. Meanwhile, the Netherlands made it to the top 10 list while Newzealand, which was in the 8th position on Thursday, has been ranked in the 11th spot.  Click here to check the complete tally.

Team USA finishes top of the medal table for third consecutive Olympic Games

Team USA has finished top of the medal table at Tokyo 2020, winning 113 medals in 28 different sports. A total of 626 athletes competed for the US, clinching 39 gold, 41 silver and 33 bronze medals. China and hosts Japan were closest to matching the US' gold medal haul, winning 38 and 27 respectively.
