Kathmandu Kings XI announces its team for EPL 2021

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Kathmandu Kings XI has declared its team along with the players' jersey number for Everest Premier League (EPL) 2021. This was announced during a press conference held at Hotel Soaltee, Kathmandu on Friday. Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Bidya Sundar Shakya chaired the conference as the Chief Guest.

EPL 2021: Tigers beat Rhinos in final

KATHMANDU: Chitwan Tigers, under the captainship of pacer Sompal Kami, have won the maiden title of the fourth season of Everest Premier League (EPL). In the final match played at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Saturday afternoon, the Tigers beat Pokhara Rhinos by four wickets. Tigers elected to bowl first after winning the toss and restricted the Rhinos to a total of 111 runs. The Rhinos lost all the wickets in the 18th over. Asela Gunaratne scored the highest 34 runs for the Rhinos followed by Richard Levi’s 26, skipper Binod Bhandari’s 22 and Bipin Rawal’s 17. Tigers’ Kamal Airee took four wickets conceding just 20 runs in the four overs. Karim Janat and Seekkuge Prasanna’s two-wicket haul each helped the Tigers restrict the Rhinos to a low total. Chasing the target, the Tigers lost three early wickets --- Hasim Ansari in the first over, Karim Janat in the second over and Mohammad Shahzad in the fourth over. However, Bhim Sarki’s 63 runs off 45 balls led them to an easy victory. While Dilip Nath scored 18 runs, Rajesh Pulami added another 14. Rhinos’ Kishor Mahato claimed four Tigers’ batsmen while Nandan Yadav took two wickets.

EPL 2021: Tigers continue winning streak, thrash Patriots by five wickets

KATHMANDU: Chitwan Tigers have continued their winning momentum in the ongoing edition of Everest Premier League (EPL). The Tigers, on Sunday, thrashed Lalitpur Patriots by five wickets. Earlier the Patriots won the toss and elected to bat first, however, could set an easy target of 109 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Jaykishan Kolsawala, the highest run-scorer for the team added 42 on the board. The Patriots' lineup stumbled before the Tigers’ strong bowling spell. While Kamal Airee claimed three wickets, Karim Janat and Sagar Dhakal took two wickets each. Tigers met the target in the 18th over losing five wickets. Mohammad Shahzad scored 35 and Bhim Sharki contributed 27 runs. With today's win, the Tigers are at the top of the points table with eight points from all four wins followed by Pokhara Rhinos (5 points) and Bhairahawa Gladiators (4).
