KATHMANDU, November 8: Hearings on six cases are scheduled to be conducted at the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday.
Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shumsher JBR has assigned six benches on Monday including himself on Monday. Of the six scheduled cases, CJ Rana will be hearing the case accompanied by Justice Kumar Chumdal.
Nepal Bar Association (NAB), an umbrella organization of legal practitioners, asked CJ Rana not to bench any cases following controversies in the judiciary.
All the hearings to be conducted on Monday are related to habeas corpus cases.
Following protests by the Nepal Bar Association, the association and his fellow SC Justices demanded that CJ Rana resign from his post.
CJ Rana has been accused of claiming his share in the Cabinet.
