KATHMANDU, June 13: Hearing of the writ petition filed against the appointment of Inspector General of Nepal Police is currently underway at the Supreme Court (SC).
The hearing is being conducted by a joint bench of acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki and Justice Kumar Chundal.
Earlier on May 1, 2022, the Cabinet had decided to appoint Diraj Pratap Singh to the post of IGP of Nepal Police. Later, AIG Bishwaraj Pokharel had filed a writ petition at the apex court accusing the government of not making the appointment on the basis of seniority.
