Amid the federal government's indecisiveness about shutting schools for a certain period after reports of the new variant of the coronavirus affecting children, the Kathmandu metropolitan city has directed schools under its jurisdiction to close classes for at least one week if they have active Covid-19 cases among students, teachers or other staff.
