CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Nepal tests positive for COVID-19

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal has tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).  Chair Nepal underwent a test on Tuesday after developing symptoms similar to that of COVID-19, according to Jagannath Khatiwada, a leader of the party.  “He has isolated himself at his residence,” added Khatiwada.  Earlier, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha who had attended a ruling alliance’s meeting along with Nepal had contracted the virus.  Prime Minister Deuba, who remained isolated after Prachanda’s COVID-19 report, however, tested negative on Tuesday.
