Photojournalist Purnima Shrestha and Pasang Lhamu Sherpa have become the first Nepali women to climb the 8,167-metre Mt. Dhaulagiri. They reached the summit of this mountain in the early morning of October 1.

The two, part of the team SST-Dhaulagiri I, reached the top of the 8,167-metre peak at approximately 5.30 am on Friday, Seven Summit Treks, the company that organised the expedition, said on its Facebook page.
