KATHMANDU, July 17: Babu Ram Bhattarai, chairman of the federal; council of Janata Samajbadi Party, is set to form a new political party.
A central committee meeting of the party held earlier at Birgunj has decided to take action against Bhattarai and eight other leaders in charge of trying to split the party.
Bhattari, who later scrapped the decision, is now preparing to form a new political party, according to the sources.
A leader close to the Bhattari-led faction of JSP told Ratopati that a meeting of the faction held on Saturday had already decided to form a new political party. “The formation of a new party is likely to be finalized on Monday.”
