KATHMANDU, November 19: The government has decided to conduct a by-election of the National Assembly on January 26, 2022.
A Cabinet meeting held on Thursday took the decision to this effect.
According to Uma Regmi, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen, a by-poll for 19 vacant posts at the National Assembly will be conducted on January 26, 2022.
The government has also urged the authorities concerned to make necessary preparations for the election.
As per the Constitution of Nepal, there is the provision to conduct the election 35 days prior to the expiry of NA lawmakers’ tenure.
