KATHMANDU, May 20: Vote count of local level elections held recently has been completed in 619 local units so far.
As of Friday morning, the ruling Nepali Congress has won the highest of 275 local units including 99 posts of mayor and 176 posts of chairperson. The party is currently leading the vote count in 43 local units.
Likewise, the main opposition party, CPN-UML, is in second position winning in 170 local units and maintaining the lead in 31 local units.
Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Center) is in the third position, clinching victory in 112 local units and maintaining the lead in nine local units.
Meanwhile, the CPN (Unified Socialist) has stood victorious in 14 local units while the Janata Samajbadi Party has won 18 local units.
