CNI and UK Aid sign MoU for producing skilled human resources

KATHMANDU, August 18: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and the UK Aid's Skills for Employment Programme have signed a memorandum of understanding for implementing the work place based employment training programme.  CNI president Bishnu Kumar Agrawal and SEP project team leader Baljeet Bohra signed the MoU here on Tuesday in the witness of Arjun Prasad Pokharel, Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.  On the occasion, Secretary Pokharel said the government has forwarded the work place based employment-oriented training programme with the goal of training skilled human resources required for the industrial sector. He hoped that this MoU would be key to implementing this programme. The Industry Ministry Secretary said the programme would be expanded and budget for it increased in the future based on its effectiveness. CNI president Agrawal said it is the CNI's responsibility to produce the skilled human resources needed for the industries. He said the 'Make in Nepal' campaign aimed to create 150 thousand jobs annually.  As per the MoU, the CNI and SEP project will work together for training skilled human resources in the commercial agriculture, production industries, tourism, information technology and construction sectors in Province No 2 and Lumbini province.

Recommendations made to keep NRA’s human resources in present status

KATHMANDU, July 16: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has recommended to continue its existing human resources until the completion of quake-hit reconstruction works including the private houses.   A meeting of the NRA’s executive committee held on Thursday made such decision citing that reconstruction of the private houses and other tasks were pending due to the lockdown and prohibitory order imposed to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.     Earlier on 24 June, the directorate committee’s meeting of the NRA had decided to continue its institutional organisation and term of reference as it is until 25 December, 2021.  As decided the NRA is scheduled to complete the reconstruction works by 16 December and finish the handover tasks too.   Till Thursday, a total of 828,752 (99.89%) beneficiaries received the amount of the first installment. A total of 860 households of the beneficiaries are left to receive the first installment of the relief amount.    Likewise, 741,995 households received the amount of the second installment while 689,547 received the amount of the third installment till July 15.    For the construction of the private households, the NRA spent Rs 21.56 billion (90.41%) of the total allocated amount till the fiscal year 2077/078.     Similarly, a total of Rs 53 billion was spent for the entire reconstruction works out of Rs 69.33 billion.

Beni hospital struggling without human resources

MYAGDI, May 31: An intensive care unit and ventilators at Beni Hospital have yet to come into full operation for want of human resources, said the hospital.  The hospital has established a five-bed ICU and two ventilators at a cost of Rs 17 million provided by the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Province, said chairperson of the hospital management committee, Bel Bahadur Katuwal.  “It requires additional six doctors and 12 staff nurses for the hospital. We have asked for permission to manage human resources through internal source if the provincial government cannot do so,” he said.

Different hospitals in Province 2 appoint additional human resources

DHANUSA, May 9: Following the increasing number of corona virus cases, the government of Province-2 has appointed additional human resources at the hospitals of the province in order to ease treatment of Covid-19 patients.  According to the Social Development Ministry, a decision was taken to appoint additional human resources at different hospitals including Provincial Hospital, Janakpurdham, Narayani Hospital, Birgunj, and Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj.  The Ministry has given responsibility to the concerned hospitals to appoint human resources for six months.  The Provincial Hospital, Janakpurdham, has appointed 128 more human resource while Narayani Hospital appointed 19 more human resources. Similarly, Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital appointed eight more human resources.  According to the Ministry, additional human resources have been provided to Bhardaha Hospital, Saptari, Pokhariya Hospital, Parsa, as well as hospitals in Siraha, Jaleshwor, Malangawa, Gaur, Kalaiya and Lahan.  The Province-2 government has provided 33 human resources for Provincial Public Health Lab, Janakpurdham.
