Manakamana cable car service to pause operations for maintenance

MUGLIN: The Manakamana cable car service will be temporarily closed on March 20 for routine maintenance, announced Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd. Deputy General Manager Ujjwal Sherchan confirmed that the cable car service will resume regular operations from March 21.

Manakamana cable car resumes operation

KATHMANDU, Dec 23 : Nepal's first cable car, the Manakamana cable car has resumed its routine operation after maintenance. The cable car remained closed for four days from last Sunday for carrying out necessary maintenance in gear box and tower. According to deputy general manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, Ujjwal Sherchan, the cable car service remained shut for four days on December 19-22 for fixing technical glitches. He further shared that the cable car service has come into routine operation from today after completing maintenance works. The cable car is upgrading its existing analogue system to digital system as per its plan.

Manakamana cable car service resumes operations

The Manakamana cable car service has resumed regular operations from today. The service was halted for five days from April 7 for the first phase repair works. The cable car service has resumed since 8am today. Although it was announced that the service would be resumed from April 13, it has been started a day earlier, said Deputy General Manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, Ujjwal Sherchan. The cable car system which has completed 23 years is being upgraded in three phases to convert it from the analog technology to digital. Sherchan said the upgrading works would be completed within two years.
