The price of petrol in Nepal has gone up by Rs. 60 per litre in past five months. Similar is the case with other petroleum products like diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel and cooking gas. In the latest go, the price of petrol went up by Rs. 21 on Monday and reached Rs. 199. The price of diesel and kerosene, likewise, increased by Rs. 27 each and reached Rs. 192. The price of aviation fuel for domestic flights increased by Rs. 19 per litre and that for the international flight went up by USD 100 per kiloliter. Triggered by the war in Ukraine, these price increases are unprecedented.

NOC hikes fuel price, petrol to cost 150 per liter

KATHMANDU, March 4: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of fuels.  The price of petrol, diesel and kerosene has been increased by Rs. 5 per liter. With the updated price, petrol will cost Rs. 150 per liter while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs. 133 per liter. Likewise, the price of aviation fuel has been increased by Rs. 10 per liter in domestic consumption while it has been increased by 100 US per kilolitre for international flights. The price of LP gas or cooking gas however remains the same.

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of petroleum products.  Prices of diesel, petrol and kerosene have been increased by Rs 3 per liter while aviation fuel by Rs 5 (domestic) and USD 100 (international).  According to the new price adjustment list released by the state-owned trading enterprise that will come into operation at Wednesday midnight, diesel and kerosene will be sold for Rs 122 per liter each and petrol for Rs 139. Similarly, aviation fuel (domestic) fetches Rs 106 per liter and USD 995 (international).  However, the price of cooking gas has remained intact. “Nevertheless, the NOC is incurring losses worth over Rs 1.8 billion every fortnightly despite price increment in petroleum products,” said its spokesperson Binit Mani Upadhyay.

Price of petrol, diesel,  kerosene goes up by Rs 3 per litre once again

KATHMANDU, November 11: The government has hiked the price of fuel with effect from Wednesday midnight. Accordingly, petrol, diesel and kerosene prices have been increased by Rs 3 per litre. The meeting of the Nepal Oil Corporation Board of Directors held on Wednesday decided to increase the price of petrol, diesel, kerosene and aviation fuel as well as of cooking gas. The price of cooking LP gas has been increased by Rs 75 per cylinder to Rs 1,575. With this decision in effect, petrol will now cost Rs 136 per liter while the price of diesel and kerosene climbs to Rs 119 per litre. Price of domestic aviation fuel has been increased by Rs. 5 per litre to make it Rs 101 per litre. The price of aviation fuel for international flights has reached USD 895 per kilolitre, according to a statement issued by the corporation's co-spokesperson Puskar Karki. Even after the adjusted price, the NOC will incur a loss of Rs 2.62 billion in 15 days, the release said. Prior to this, the price of fuel had been increased on October 29.

NOC hikes price of all types of fuel

Nepal Oil Corporation, the state-owned monopoly petroleum supplier, has increased the price of the petroleum products effective from Friday midnight. The NOC has revised the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel and cooking gas citing that price of fuel has increased in the international market significantly. The NOC has increased the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs. 3 per litre each and price of aviation fuel for domestic flight has increased by Rs. 10 per litre.

NOC hikes price of petroleum products again

KATHMANDU, April 17: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), a state owned trading enterprise that imports, stores and distributes petroleum products in the country, has hiked the price of petroleum products.  As per the new adjusted price list of petroleum products that will come into effect on Saturday midnight, the price of petrol has increased to Rs 121 per liter against the existing Rs 120. Likewise, the price of diesel and kerosene has been increased by Rs 1 per liter. Price of both diesel and kerosene has reached Rs 104 per liter. Price of aviation fuel on domestic routes has increased to Rs 76 per liter from Rs 74.  However, the price of cooking gas and aviation fuel on international routes has remained unchanged. The NOC has been incurring a loss of Rs 6.72 per liter on petrol, Rs 44 paisa on diesel and Rs 417.47 per cooking gas cylinder, according to NOC's spokesperson Binitmani Upadhyay. In total, it has been incurring a loss of Rs 810 million on the sale of petroleum products fortnightly. See NOC's statement below
