China got off to a flying start on the first official day of competition in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, by winning two gold medals before lunchtime, including the first gold of the Games. The honour of winning the first gold medal went to Sheng Lihao and Huang Yuting, who claimed a close 16-12 win over South Korean shooters in the final of the 10m air rifle mixed team. Kazakhstan earlier won the bronze in the event.
