CAAN action against Fly Dubai officials

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has taken disciplinary action against two officials of Fly Dubai for disseminating misleading information regarding a supposed bird strike incident that allegedly occurred during a Kathmandu-Dubai flight last night.

International flights stopped at Bhairahawa due to lack of 'business'

BUTWAL, Feb 4: For the first time in Nepal's 74-year aviation history, more than half a dozen foreign airlines wanted to fly in Gautam Buddha International Airport at Bhairahawa outside Kathmandu. During the inauguration ceremony of the airport on May 16, officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said that the international airline companies will come to Bhairahawa within a few months. It was said that airlines from 11 countries including Sri Lankan Airlines, Fly Dubai, Thai Smile, Gulf Air, Oman Air, Qatar Airways, Salam Air are interested in flying from Bhairahawa.

GBIA takes off

UAE-based Air Arabia and Fly Dubai will start operating flights to Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairawa in two weeks. The two airlines have been in talks with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) since 16 May. Jazeera Airways is already operating three flights a week to Bhairawa, Nepal’s second international airport.
