NC new CWC meeting tomorrow

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: A meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) Central Working Committee elected by the party's 14th General Convention has been scheduled for Saturday at the party central office, Sanepa. According to party office secretary Keshab Rijal, a certificate distribution program to the newly elected office bearers and central members has been scheduled to start from 11:00 am and the meeting will commence once the certificate distribution gets over.   It may be noted that the NC national gathering (December 10-14) held in Kathmandu elected 134 office-bearers and the central members. As per the party’s revised statute, the party Central President shall nominate 33 members.   The 13th General Convention had elected the 85-member Central Committee.  Party President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is scheduled to thank all the elected people, welcome them and make a decision of renewing the party registration in the Election Commission.

NC office-bearers' meeting today

KATHMANDU, September 22: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has called a meeting of its central office-bearers to discuss on the 14th general convention of the party and other contemporary affairs.  Matters related to contemporary political development would be discussed in the meeting to be held at Budhanilakantha-based private residence of Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba at 3.00 pm on Wednesday, informed PM's cfhief personal secretary Bhanu Deuba.  A meeting of the top leaders of ruling coalition held on Tuesday had agreed to immediately appoint NC leader Dr Narayan Khadka as the foreign minister. The office-bearers' meeting would also discuss the same issue today.  Likewise, the meeting is also expected to take necessary decision on new dates for convention in remaining districts where ward conventions have not been held before.  The ward convention schedule was affected in 13 districts, including eight districts of the province-2, Surkhet, Dolpa, Rasuwa, Rupandehi and Kailali for failure to disclose the details of active members.

PM Deuba summons NC office bearers meeting

KATHMANDU, September 22: Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba has summoned NC’s officer bearers for a meeting on Wednesday. The  meeting has been scheduled for 3P today at the PM office in Baluwatar. The meeting will select leaders for ministers, a NC leader told Ratopati. PM Deuba had recommended the appointment of leader Narayan Khadka in the post of Minister for Foreign Affairs in a meeting of the ruling alliance held on Tuesday. It has been learnt that the office bearers meeting has been called following an agreement between the ruling alliance to appoint Khadka as a Foreign Minister.

NC central committee meeting underway

KATHMANDU, August 13: The central working committee meeting of the ruling Nepali Congress party is underway. The meeting is taking place at the private residence of Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkatha since 11:30 today. According to party spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma, the meeting is deliberating regarding the preparation for the party's 14th general convention.  It is stated that the meeting is likely to fix new dates for the convention after the suggestions received from the CC members.  The meeting was begun on Thursday and nine CC members had put their views so far.  Similarly, NC active membership dispute probe committee coordinator Ramesh Lekhak had presented his views on the investigation report in Thursday’s meeting.

NC office-bearers’ meeting at 9:00 this morning

KATHMANDU, May 21: Major opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has summoned a meeting of its central office-bearers and former office-bearers to discuss the country’s latest political developments. The meeting is scheduled to begin at party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha at 9:00 this morning. Chief Secretary of NC central office Krishna Prasad Poudel said that discussions would be held on the press statement released from the Office of the President for the call to form the government as per the Article 76 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal.   On Thursday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari called upon the Members of Parliament (MPs) to submit their claim for the premiership till 5:00 pm today to appoint the Prime Minister as per the Article 76 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal.  However, NC has termed the President Office’s statement on formation of government as per the Article 76 (5) as unconstitutional and undemocratic.

NC calls office-bearers’ meeting at 3:00 this afternoon

KATHMANDU, May 11: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has called a meeting of the party’s officer-bearers and former office-bearers at 3:00 pm to discuss the country’s contemporary politics.  NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s personal secretary Bhanu Deuba said that the meeting is summoned at President Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha.  President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has called a Member of Parliament (MP) to claim the premiership with the support of two or more than two political parties by 13 May as per the Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal. President Bhandari made this call on Monday as after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli could not get a vote of confidence from the HoR.
