Health Minister inspects vaccination centres in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, November 3: Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada inspected various vaccination centres set up at gateways to the Kathmandu Valley today. The Ministry had launched vaccination drive against COVID-19 since November 2 targeting those leaving Kathmandu Valley during the Tihar festival. Vaccine centres were set up at Koteshwor, Gongabu and Kalanki. Health Minister Khatiwada visited the centre in Koteshwor and Balkhu and said that vaccination was effective in minimizing the COVID-19 pandemic. Pledging that more vaccination centres would be set up after Tihar festival, the Minister shared that such centres would be set up in other places as well. According to him, the government was going to procure 10 million vaccines from various countries which would be administered on children. On November 2, some 3,000 people got vaccinated. Additional 10,000 are estimated to receive the jab, the Ministry said. Meanwhile, another vaccination centre has been set up at Gwarko, Lalitpur today.
