Kathmandu. A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding that Dhaneendra Karki, a member elected to the House of Representatives from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), not be administered the oath of office. Communist Parties Shrink Significantly in Nepal's Recent Parliamentary Elections
Kathmandu. In the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, the Rastriya Swatantra Party secured nearly a two-thirds majority, causing Communist parties to shrink considerably. In previous elections, Communist parties maintained a strong presence in parliament. In this election, the CPN-UML, considered the country's main leftist force, won only 9 seats in the direct contests.
