UML Gen Convention: Vote count begins, results by 3PM

KATHMANDU: Vote count for the selection of various key positions including chairman of the main opposition CPN-UML has begun at the Sauraha-based Hotel Seven Star.  Voting for the key office bearer positions and central committee members, which began at 4 AM earlier on Tuesday, concluded at 10:30 AM.  As many as 2,096 delegates cast their votes on the electronic voting machine.  According to Bijaya  Subba, chief of the central election committee, the final results will be out by 3 PM today.

The vote count is currently being held at Siddhartha Secondary School of Hetauda-2. According to the Hetauda Election Office, the vote count is being conducted in four places in the metropolis. In the local polls held on Friday, 65 percent of total votes of the sub-metropolis were casted.

KATHMANDU, May 13: Vote count in Biratnagar Metropolitan City is to begin in a few hours. The officials there are currently collecting ballot boxes and are preparing to initiate vote count, according to Chief District Officer of Morang, Kashi Raj Dahal. Likewise, the vote count of Damak Municipality is also scheduled to begin on Friday. The ballot boxes are being collected, according to Keshav Prasad Panta, election officer of Dhamak.
