Kathmandu. The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has directed mobile and internet service providers to block betting applications. NTA Spokesperson Min Prasad Aryal informed that the authority issued such a directive to all service providers while implementing point number 42 of the government's governance reform action plan. Clashes erupted between police and CPN-UML cadres protesting at Maitighar against the arrest of Chairman KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.The clash occurred when police attempted to stop the UML cadres who were marching from Maitighar towards Baneshwor. Some protesters were injured in the clash after police resorted to a baton charge. One injured person sustained a head injury. Kathmandu. Police have arrested an individual on charges of defrauding people with promises of sending them to New Zealand. The arrested person is 38-year-old Rijen Nagarkoti, a resident of Godawari Municipality-19, Lalitpur. SP Manohar Bhatta of the Valley Crime Investigation Office told Ratopati that he was arrested from Chapagaun, Lalitpur, on Chaitra 13.Police investigation concluded that the accused took 1.63 million rupees from two victims, promising them jobs in New Zealand with attractive salaries, and subsequently went out of contact.
