Nepal Telecommunications Authority Directs Service Providers to Block Betting Apps
Kathmandu. The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has directed mobile and internet service providers to block betting applications. NTA Spokesperson Min Prasad Aryal informed that the authority issued such a directive to all service providers while implementing point number 42 of the government's governance reform action plan. According to him, the directive to implement the decision was received from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Sunday itself. Clashes Erupt Between CPN-UML Protesters and Police in Kathmandu Over Arrests
Kathmandu. Clashes erupted between police and CPN-UML cadres protesting at Maitighar against the arrest of Chairman KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.The clash occurred when police attempted to stop the UML cadres who were marching from Maitighar towards Baneshwor. Some protesters were injured in the clash after police resorted to a baton charge. One injured person sustained a head injury. SP Pawan Bhattarai of the Kathmandu District Police Range informed that the injured were taken to Everest Hospital for treatment. According to him, nine people have been arrested....
