PHOTOS: Pakistani cricketer Afridi in Kathmandu for EPL

KATHMANDU: Former captain of the national men's cricket team of Pakistan, Sahid Afridi has arrived in Kathmandu to play the Everest Premier League (EPL) franchise T20 cricket tournament. All-rounder Afridi, who will be playing on behalf of the Kathmandu Kings XI in the tournament that will be held in the capital from September 25 at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday afternoon. During his involvement with the Pakistani national team from 1996 to 2018, Afridi known as  ‘Boom Boom Afridi’ for his massive hits, played 26 tests, 398 one-day internationals and 99 T20 matches. Kathmandu Kings XI is one of the six franchise teams competing in the mega event to be held in the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Others taking part in the 4th edition of the EPL are defending champion Lalitpur Patriots, Pokhara Rhinos, Chitwan Tigers, Bhairahawa Gladiators and Biratnagar Warriors.
