After the implementation of the federal governance system in Nepal, provincial governments were expected to provide fast, efficient, and effective services to citizens. In practice, however, provincial structures have become platforms for political power-sharing rather than avenues for responsive service delivery. The essence of federalism is being undermined by cumbersome administrative machinery and unproductive, expensive structures.In Bagmati Province, the number of ministries was increased from 7 to 14 without any objective basis or workload. Mahakali River Bridge Collapses After Pillar Washed Away
Kanchanpur. The bridge over the Mahakali River connecting Dadha Chandani and Bhimdattanagar of Kanchanpur has collapsed. The bridge collapsed after a pillar in the middle of the bridge was washed away by the Mahakali River on Wednesday morning.Considered one of the longest suspension pedestrian bridges in Nepal, this bridge is also known as the second longest suspension bridge in Asia.The length of the bridge is 1,452.96 meters and the width is 1.6 meters.
