Sunil Prajapathi elected mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality

KATHMANDU, May 16: Candidate of Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party for the post of mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality, Sunil Prajapathi, has been re-elected as the mayor of the municipality. Prajapath was elected mayor after garnering 29,200 votes while his nearest contender, Ram Prasad Kasula of Nepali Congress got only 3,667 votes. Likewise, the candidate of the Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party for the post of deputy mayor Rajani Joshi has also been elected deputy mayor of the municipality. She was elected to the post with 29,695 votes while the candidate of CPN-UML in the second position, Ranjana Kharbuja, collected only 2,724 votes.

NC lags behind in vote count in Bhaktapur Municipality by 24,000 votes

KATHMANDU, May 16: Candidate of Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party for the post of mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality, Sunil Prajapathi, is leading the vote count with a popular vote. Prajapathi has so far garnered 27,660 votes while his nearest contender, Ram Prasad Kasula of Nepali Congress has got only 3,199 votes. Likewise, the candidate of Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party for the post of deputy mayor has so far got 28,110 votes while the candidate of CPN-UML in the second position has collected only 2,724 votes.
