KATHMANDU, September 20: The police have made public four more accused of Sankhuwasabha murder case on Monday. The police have claimed that they  have arrested the mastermind of the murder. The police had arrested Lok Bahadur Karki (who was first to confess that he killed Tej Bahadur Karki and his five family members) on September 11.   After investigation, the police have arrested four other people who were found to be involved in gruesome murder of Tej Bahadur Karki and his five family members.  Arrested people have been identified as Khadka Bahadur Karki, 47, his son Hasta Bahadur Karki, 25, Rana Bahadur Karki, 49 and Naresh Karki, 17. It has been learnt that Lok Bahadur Karki and these four people planned and killed Tej Bahadur and his family members, SP Bhim Dahal, investigation officer, told Ratopati. The police have claimed that Khadka Bahadur Karki, Lok Bahadur’s uncle, is the mastermind behind the murder. It has been learnt that they pre-planned the murder at Lok Bahadur’s house the previous evening.

KATHMANDU, September 12: The police have made public the accused of the Sankhuwasabha murder case. DIG Arun BC of Province 1 Police Office made the accused Lok Bahadur Karki  public amid a press conference at Chainpur. Accused Karki is a 26 years old youth of Umling of Madi Municipality-1. Lok Bahadur has confessed that he killed Tej Bahadur Karki and his five other  family members. The deceased were Parbati Karki, 84, Tej Bahadur Karki, 52, Kamala Karki, 52, Ranjana Karki, 32, Dipen Karki, 11 and Goma Karki, 7.

KATHMANDU, September 11: After five days of gruesome murder of six members of a family in Sakhuwasabha district, police have arrested a local youth, Lok Bahadur Karki on Saturday. Karki, 26, of Madi-1 has also confessed to his crime. Lok Bahadur Karki is a nephew of deceased Tej Bahadur Karki. “It has been learnt that Lok Bahadur Karki solely murdered six of his relatives,” said a high level police official.  According to the police involved in the investigation, accused Karki has confessed that he killed Tej Bahadur Karki and his family because he (Tej Bahadur Karki) used to humiliate him and he was not able to tolerate it.  The local people have also agreed that Tei Bahadur used to humiliate others. Lok Bahadur’s house is located around 100 meters away from the deceased family’s house. It has been learnt that Lok Bahadur firstly killed Tej Bahadur. After knowing that Kamala (wife of Tej Bahadur) and Ranjana (daughter-in-law) witnessed the incident, he also killed both of them using a hammer. He then chased away Bipin Karki, 8 and Goma Karki,5, after they saw what happened there and killed them both. He then returned to Tej Bahadur’s house and killed Parbati Karki, 84 (mother of Tej Bahadur).

Sankhuwasabha murder case: DNA tests of suspects underway

KATHMANDU, September 11: The police are conducting DNA tests of suspected people involved in murder of six members of a family in Madi Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha district. The DNA tests are underway to bring the criminal to book, according to police. Relatives and neighbours who were directly or indirectly in connection with the deceased are currently undergoing the tests. The police have also adopted other technological methods to find the ‘murderers’ and bring them to book. Four days ago, six members including Tej Bahadur Karki of Madi-1 were murdered.  A team of Nepal Police Police-led by DIG Arun Kumar BC of Province 1, a separate team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), team of Daran Police and a team of District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha are currently investigating the case.
