The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is to resume power supply to the consumers who have used electricity from dedicated feeder and trunk line in the past but have not paid premium charge for that.

NEA cuts off power supply to 14 industries

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has cut power supply of additional 14 industries. According to the NEA, it has cut power supply of additional 14 industries that consumed electricity from dedicated feeders and trunk lines in the past, but have not paid the premium fee. The Authority cut the electricity lines of industries with power tariff arrears of more than Rs. 50 million under the dedicated feeders and trunk lines. The NEA started cutting the lines of industries who refused to pay power tariff from December 22, 2023. In the first phase, electricity of four industries with arrears of more than Rs. 1 billion and then five industries was cut off. Along with 14 more industries whose power supply was cut on Friday, 23 industries getting power supply from dedicated feeder and trunk lines have been cut off. NEA makes alternate arrangement for power supply in Mugu, Humla

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: After a great damage to small hydropower plants caused by heavy rains last October, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has made alternative arrangements for power supply in Mugu and Humla for the time being.

Power supply to under-construction international cricket stadium disconnected

KATHMANDU: The power supply to the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium has been cut after it failed to pay electricity tariff dues.  The construction works of the stadium have been stagnated for the past five months. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Bharatpur Transmission Centre on Wednesday disrupted power supply to the stadium for not paying bills.  According to Engineer at Transmission Centre, Rajendra Poudel, the tariff dues have reached Rs 887,000.  The Dhurmus Suntali Foundation that spearheaded the cricket stadium construction works had walked away from its responsibility after facing a financial crisis.  The Foundation has urged Bharatpur Metropolis to take ownership of the stadium saying the Foundation has yet to clear off the dues over Rs 170 million.  The NEA has also cut off the power supply to Mount Everest Brewery as it has yet to pay electricity tariff dues over Rs 3.74 million. Along with this, the NEA has cut off the line of 12 small firms and organizations for no regular payment of tariff.
