Rs 3.9 million of social security allowance stolen

BAJHANG, July 15: The amount of social security allowance of Bungal municipality, Ward no 9 and 11 has been stolen on Tuesday night. It has been said that Rs 3.9 million was stolen from the rented room of the ward secretary Bapindra Mahato. Mahato is living on rent at the house of ward member Dhanbir Bohara and the money was stolen from the same room, said police. A local Khadka Bohara said that the incident looked suspicious as the cupboard where the money was said to be kept was not found broken.  Police Inspector Lokendra Singh Karki shared that Temporary Police Post, Putalilek and Area Police Office, Jhapa, have been carrying out investigation into the case by arresting ward secretary Mahato and the landlord.  It is said that two persons including the ward secretary were living in rent at the house and the landlord used to live in another house. Around Rs 2.191 million was already distributed while Rs 3.9 million was kept for distribution.
