Man Utd agree terms with Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford

LONDON, Aug. 28: Manchester United confirmed they had agreed terms with Juventus to take Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club 12 years after he left for Spain. The agreement was confirmed by Manchester United with a communique which reads, "Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical." Ronaldo returns to the club where he scored 118 goals in 292 appearances between 2003 and 2009 before moving to Real Madrid. "Cristiano, a five-time Ballon d'Or winner, has so far won over 30 major trophies during his career, including five UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, seven league titles in England, Spain and Italy, and the European Championship for his native Portugal." "Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming Cristiano back to Manchester," concludes the communique. Just 24-hours ago Ronaldo had appeared to be bound for United's neighbors and bitter rivals, Manchester City, only them to pull out of the move after failing to agree a fee for the 36-year-old with Juventus. That allowed his former club to step in and seal the deal for an estimated 20 million euros after Ronaldo had spoken to former Man Utd coach Sir Alex Ferguson and several former team-mates.
