Narayangadh-Muglin road section sees traffic disruptions again

  MUGLIN, July 8: The Narayangadh-Muglin road stretch has again witnessed traffic disruptions after landslides took place in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29, Setidobhan at 8.00 pm last night.  According to District Police Office Chitwan Chief, Om Prasad Adhikari, two JCV excavators have been mobilized since early this morning to remove the debris with boulders that put the traffic operations out of gear. It may take further time to clear off the road if further heavy equipment are required to use for breaking the boulders, he added.  The two-way traffic that had come into operations on the road stretch since 6.00 pm Wednesday has again witnessed obstructions. As informed, the debris is still sliding on the road. Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded along the road section due to traffic disruptions.  Landslides obstruct Bhimdutta highway  Landslides have obstructed the Bhimdutta Highway that connects seven hilly districts of Sudurpaschim Province. Traffic operations have come to a grinding halt along the highway since 3.00 am this morning. Locals said the landslide occurred at Ganyapdhura rural municipality-1, Shahukharka of Dadeldhura disrupted the highway traffic. Efforts are on to clear off the debris since early this morning so as to resume the highway.  Prithvi highway remains obstructed in Tanahun  Owing to incessant rain and subsequent flood, the Prithvi highway has been obstructed at Myagde rural municipality-4 in Tanahun. DSP Yubaraj Timilsena informed the rain-triggered flood obstructed the highway. Police personnel and locals are working together to reduce the water level in the swollen rivulet.  Meanwhile, landslides triggered by incessant rain since Wednesday evening buried two houses and caused damages to 10 houses in Rishing rural municipality of Tanahun. No human casualties have been so far reported according to the rural municipality office. Floods have also caused loss to the harvesting maize cultivated in 10 ropanis of land. Likewise, landslide has buried a house of Rishing-4 ward member Tolnath Thapa.

MUGLIN, July 12: Landslide has again disrupted the Narayangadh-Muglin road section.  According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the two-way road traffic has come to halt since 4.45 this morning after landslide occurred at Ichhakamana rural municipality-6 in Chitwan.  Landslide debris is still rolling down off the cliff, shared spokesperson of District Police Office, Chitwan DSP Surya Bahadur Thapa. Efforts are underway to clear off the road and resume traffic operations by 9.00 am today, he informed.
