KATHMANDU, August 18: Hearing on a writ petition filed at the Supreme Court (SC) against the appointment of Kul Man Ghising on the post of the Managing Director (MD) of Nepal Electric Authority (NEA) is to be benched by Justice Kumar Regmi. Earlier, Hitendra Shakya, outgoing MD of NEA had filed a writ petition at the apex court demanding to scrap Ghising’s appointment on August 16. Shakya in his petition claimed that he has not received any formal letter from the government regarding relieving him from his post and Ghising’s appointment is against the law. Earlier, the Council of Ministers appointed Ghising as the MD of NEA as proposed by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
