France, UAE provide medical supplies

Expressing solidarity with Nepal in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the French Government has extended support of medical equipment and supplies to Nepal. Francois-Xavier Leger, Ambassador of France to Nepal, handed over a planeload of shipments containing 504,000 FFP2 masks; 20,225 antigen test kits; 12,000 protection glasses; and 14 respirators including consumables to Minister for Health and Population Hridayesh Tripathi at a brief ceremony held at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday morning. Issuing a statement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed, on the occasion Minister Tripathi thanked the Government and people of France for their generous support of life-saving materials, which would be helpful in containing the surge of COVID-19 cases and treatment of the affected people.

China donates medical supplies to Rasuwa

RASUWA, October 4: The Government of China has donated medical supplies including filled oxygen cylinders to the district to help district residents in their treatment. Officials from Jilong at Kerung in China handed medical equipments including 300 filled portable oxygen cylinders, facemasks, personal protective equipment and sanitiser to government officials in the district amid a function recently. The consignment has been stored at the district police office, and arrangements have been made for supplying the medical supplies to hospitals in necessity soon, said the district police chief Debendra Pandey. Now the district having reeled under shortage of oxygen when COVID-19 was at its peak in the past can easily supply oxygen to patients as it has 400 filled oxygen cylinders including the donated cylinders stored, according to the district administration office.

Friends Service Council provides medical supplies

LALITPUR, September 2: Friends Service Council has provided various medical goods to the Mahalaxmi Municipality under the COVID-19 Response Project.  The 23 different types of medical supplies worth Rs 550 thousand include oxygen, masks, sanitizer, hand wash, soap, weighing machine, oxymeter, BP set, face shield, nebulizer, surgical masks etc.  Bagmati Province Assembly member Madhav Poudel on Wednesday handed over the medical assistance to Mayor rameshwor Shrestha and Deputy Mayor Nirmala Thapa.  These health supplies were received in cooperation of the UK-based World Relief and through coordination of the Council. The Municipality will provide the goods to various health facilities in the municipality.  The Project was launched in August and it has provided relief assistance to 225 COVID-19 affected local people including the poor, handicapped, senior citizens, those losing jobs, new mothers, expectant mothers and single women. Each family was provided with foodstuff to last for a month, Council's president Surya Bahadur Thapa said.

Israel provides medical supplies to Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 8: Nepal has received medical aid from Israel to support the ongoing fight against COVID-19.  A special flight of Nepal Airlines brought from Israel a consignment of medical support on Thursday. The consignment consists of medical equipment and supplies including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, masks, PPEs and coverall, provided by the government and people of Israel as well as the Nepali community living in Israel  According to the Ministry of Foregin Affairs (MoFA), the Embassy of Nepal in Tel Aviv coordinated for mobilization of the support. The consignment was received by the representative of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. Hanan Goder, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal and Harishchandra Ghimire, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were also present on the occasion.

NRN South Korea donates medical supplies to Nepal

SEOUL, June 6: The essential medical supplies procured from the monetary assistance of the Non-Resident Nepalis in South Korea for COVID-19 response efforts have been handed over to Nepal. The medical goods worth around 5 million Korean Won (equivalent to around Rs 5.2 million) consist of 100,000 set of surgical masks, 300 PPE sets, 240 bottles of sanitizers, 500 oximeters and various medicines, according to Non-Resident Nepali Association Korea’s general-secretary Bimal Subedi.  The medical supplies were brought to Nepal on June 4 in the Korean Air’s flight along with 112 stranded Nepalis. The Korean Air had ferried those healthcare appliances for free of cost in coordination with the Nepali Embassy in Seoul, South Korea and KME Travels, shared Subedi. From the donated amount, the NRN-South Korea had also purchased 17 sets of oxygen concentrators which were procured from China, according to Subedi.  The Nepali Embassy in Seoul, issuing a press statement, has extended gratitude towards the Nepalis in South Korea for their solidarity in Nepal’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

World Vision aids medical supplies worth Rs 16 million

DOTI, May 31: World Vision International has aided medical supplies worth up to Rs 16 million for the prevention and control of coronavirus in Sudurpaschim Province.    The organization has provided 440 oxygen cylinder, 10 oxygen concentrators, 380 infrared thermometer, 380 pulse oximeter, 45 PPE sets, 25 hospital beds, masks, sanitizers and other emergency medical supplies to the five most affected districts, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Achham, Bajhang and Doti.    World Vision’s COVID-19 Response Manager and Field Operation Manager Chetraj Bhattarai informed that the organization distributed 85 oxygen cylinders in Kailali and 70 cylinders each in Achham, Bajhang and Doti along with other medical appliances.    The medical support would be brought into use in the COVID hospitals operational in different local levels of Sudurpaschim Province, he shared. ---

UK provides 260 ventilators and other medical supplies to Nepal

LONDON, May 28: The Government of the United Kingdom has provided medical supplies to Nepal for the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, the Embassy of Nepal in London said. The health supplies provided from the UK government to Nepal include face shields and 260 ventilators along with the equipment needed for ventilator. The health supplies have been sent to Nepal in a plane on Thursday afternoon from London. Likewise, 10 oxygen concentrators have also been sent in the same flight managed by the Non-Resident Nepalis Association, UK, and Embassy of Nepal, London. It is said the Embassy of Nepal in London is making its efforts to receive medical supplies and vaccines from the UK government after Ambassador of Nepal to the UK Lok Darshan Regmi’s meetings with Secretary of State for Defence and Secretary of State for Foreign to immediately receive vaccines and other bilateral assistance for fight against COVID-19.  Ambassador Regmi said that the results of the meetings, interactions and coordination with different sides will appear soon.
