KATHMANDU, July 8: Nepal has received medical aid from Israel to support the ongoing fight against COVID-19.  A special flight of Nepal Airlines brought from Israel a consignment of medical support on Thursday. The consignment consists of medical equipment and supplies including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, masks, PPEs and coverall, provided by the government and people of Israel as well as the Nepali community living in Israel  According to the Ministry of Foregin Affairs (MoFA), the Embassy of Nepal in Tel Aviv coordinated for mobilization of the support. The consignment was received by the representative of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. Hanan Goder, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal and Harishchandra Ghimire, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were also present on the occasion.

NRN South Korea donates medical supplies to Nepal

SEOUL, June 6: The essential medical supplies procured from the monetary assistance of the Non-Resident Nepalis in South Korea for COVID-19 response efforts have been handed over to Nepal. The medical goods worth around 5 million Korean Won (equivalent to around Rs 5.2 million) consist of 100,000 set of surgical masks, 300 PPE sets, 240 bottles of sanitizers, 500 oximeters and various medicines, according to Non-Resident Nepali Association Korea’s general-secretary Bimal Subedi.  The medical supplies were brought to Nepal on June 4 in the Korean Air’s flight along with 112 stranded Nepalis. The Korean Air had ferried those healthcare appliances for free of cost in coordination with the Nepali Embassy in Seoul, South Korea and KME Travels, shared Subedi. From the donated amount, the NRN-South Korea had also purchased 17 sets of oxygen concentrators which were procured from China, according to Subedi.  The Nepali Embassy in Seoul, issuing a press statement, has extended gratitude towards the Nepalis in South Korea for their solidarity in Nepal’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

UK provides 260 ventilators and other medical supplies to Nepal

LONDON, May 28: The Government of the United Kingdom has provided medical supplies to Nepal for the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, the Embassy of Nepal in London said. The health supplies provided from the UK government to Nepal include face shields and 260 ventilators along with the equipment needed for ventilator. The health supplies have been sent to Nepal in a plane on Thursday afternoon from London. Likewise, 10 oxygen concentrators have also been sent in the same flight managed by the Non-Resident Nepalis Association, UK, and Embassy of Nepal, London. It is said the Embassy of Nepal in London is making its efforts to receive medical supplies and vaccines from the UK government after Ambassador of Nepal to the UK Lok Darshan Regmi’s meetings with Secretary of State for Defence and Secretary of State for Foreign to immediately receive vaccines and other bilateral assistance for fight against COVID-19.  Ambassador Regmi said that the results of the meetings, interactions and coordination with different sides will appear soon.

UK Ambassador to Nepal handovers medical supplies

KATHMANDU, May 28: The Ambassador of the UK to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt, handed over the health materials to Minister for Health and Population Hridayesh Tripathi at a brief ceremony held at the Tribhuvan International Airport this morning. In order to support Nepal in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of the United Kingdom provided medical supplies to Nepal. A charter flight carrying the medical consignment arrived in Kathmandu this morning, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Tripathi expressed gratitude to the British Government for extending helping hands when Nepal is facing a huge challenge in saving people’s lives from the resurgent second wave of the pandemic.  “This assistance from the UK is in keeping with long history of the close and friendly relationship between Nepal and the UK including at the people’s level,” he stated.  Likewise, Ambassador Pollitt assured the Minister of continued British cooperation to Nepal. The medical items provided by the UK include 260 units of ventilators, assorted consumables to last around four weeks, and 19,200 eye protectors. The same charter flight also carried oxygen concentrators donated by NepalMedUK, a charity organization based in the UK.

Nepal receives medical supplies from China to fight COVID-19

KATHMANDU, May 21: The Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Provincial Governments as well as other organizations in China have provided various life-saving medical equipment and supplies to help Nepal fight against Coronavirus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Issuing a press statement on Thursday, the Ministry said that China provided 3,500 oxygen cylinders and 10 ventilators as a part of grant assistance adding that 2,000 oxygen cylinders and 10 ventilators have already been airlifted in Kathmandu. The rest of the oxygen cylinders are being delivered at Rasuwagadhi border port shortly, it is said.   Similarly, another consignment of 40 portable ventilators, 20 automated analyzers, 10 DR machines, 20 portable ultrasound, and 30 anesthesia machines worth 5 million RMB is being handed over to the Nepali side at Tatopani border port by next week. The Red Cross Society of China is providing Nepal Red Cross Society 90 oxygen concentrators, 2000 coverall and 700,000 surgical masks, which are being handed over today. Several private organizations in China have also provided medical equipment such as oxygen concentrators, oxygen regulators and valves, oxygen cylinders to Nepal, read the press statement issued by the Ministry. Meanwhile, the Government of the People’s Republic of China has announced additional grant assistance of 5 million RMB under which items such as 650 oxygen concentrators, 20,000 oxygen nasal cannulas and 20,000 oxygen face masks will be provided to Nepal by next month, according to the Ministry. Besides, the Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China has handed over the first batch of 150 liquid oxygen cylinders to the Consulate General of Nepal in Lhasa on Thursday. The donated Liquid Oxygen is equivalent to 30,000 liters of liquid oxygen. The liquid oxygen cylinders are expected to arrive in Tatopani border port on Saturday.  Meanwhile, the TAR Government of China has announced to provide additional medical equipment and materials that include 200 ICU beds, 5 ventilators, 10 oxygen concentrators, 800 oxygen gas cylinders with oxygen and 15,000 antigen kits.
